The tear trough, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and perioral region require a more sophisticated level of assessment and treatment planning. These areas are not simply about adding volume. Successful treatment depends on understanding facial transitions, tissue quality, dynamic movement, product selection, and the relationship between each region and the rest of the face.
When approached thoughtfully, treatment in these areas can soften visible signs of fatigue, improve facial continuity, and create a more refreshed appearance while maintaining natural movement and expression. Poor placement or overcorrection can quickly become visible, which is why these regions require a careful and highly individualized approach.

Stefanie Gatica, DNP, FNP-C, is the founder of Revive Dermatology Clinic & Spa and Revive Aesthetics Academy. She is an Allergan Medical Institute Training Center Faculty at the Foundations and Evolving Injection Courses in Austin TX, , Orange County CA, and Atlanta, GA. She was selected by Dr. Mauricio de Maio for the first United States mentee group before 1 of 14 inaugural Allergan MD Codes Trainers in the US.
